Wedding Photography FAQ’s

Alot of the time most couples are not aware of what question they should ask a wedding photographer, so here i have put together a few to get started with.

  1. Will you be my actual photographer on the day?
Yes. All of the weddings that are booked through Andy Proper Photography will have me there for as long as is needed.
  2. How many weddings do you shoot per day?
I will only be shooting one wedding on the day. Wedding days are very busy and there are schedules to work to. The last thing i want is to have double the amount of work. I like to put all of my effort into one job at a time. Generally speaking i should only shoot a wedding every three to four weeks. I believe in quality not quantity.
  3. How long will you be attending our wedding to take the photos?
Depending on the package chosen, and any offer packages that state the hours,  the majority of the time i will be there for as long as i am needed. If you want me to be there for your champagne breakfast at 6am, then I’m there!!
  4. What happens if it rains?
Good question. The great British weather does have a tendency to change very quickly, I am happy to carry on shooting in the rain as long as you are. I know that this is not always the case, so i will always have a back-up plan for group/couple shots. Before the wedding i like to visit the venue not only to maybe take a few pre-wedding shots but to plan what shots are needed and also to locate a space where the group/couple shots can be taken. I will bring my mobile studio set-up if required.
  5. Will i own the copyright?
Ultimately the copyright is the photographers, but if you have a package where the full resolution images are on a disc or you purchase a disc of full resolution images separately, then this means you have copyright of the images too. The only restriction is that you do not offer or sell to a third party company i.e your venue ect.
  6. How long do you keep our images?
I never delete images. They are backed up and stored indefinitely.
  7. What do you do if your camera breaks?
I will use my spare one. I always have a couple of cameras on me.
  8. How long will it be before our wedding photos are ready to view?
Images will be ready to view around 3 weeks after the wedding day itself. Although sometimes this can either be sooner or slightly later depending on the time spent at the wedding.
  9. How long will the album take?
The album can take up to 4 weeks after the proof album pages have been approved by the client. This also depends on how long the client takes to choose the images for the album.
  10. Do you have an assistant/second photographer?
Most of the time i shoot alone. My day is scheduled and all the details are agreed with the clients before the wedding day itself. If an assistant is required, then i will notify the clients in advance. If a second photographer is required, then this would as an optional extra.
  11. Do i need to pay a deposit?
Yes for all wedding packages i will require a deposit of £300 to save the date. This means the date is exclusively yours. I will not book two weddings on the same day. I cannot save any date unless a deposit is paid and until it is paid, there is no guarantee that the date will not get booked by somebody else.
  12. When do i pay the balance?
The balance will need to be settled no later than 1 calendar month before the wedding day itself.
